CORAL is a 3.5 year research project exploring a novel concept for metal oxidation utilizing retrofitted coal-fired fluidized bed power plants. This will enable the cyclic reduction and oxidation of metals for energy storage and flexible CO2-free provision of heat and power.

The CORAL consortium consists of nine international members, including universities, research centres and industrial partners.
